Goals

The training programme for MotoPfohe focused on recognising and effectively managing the differences between generations in the workplace. The key objectives were to establish a solid foundation for communication, support motivation, and reduce conflicts within teams by understanding the behavioural profiles of different generations.
  • Establishing a common platform for understanding and respect between different generations.
  • Enhancing leadership skills to better mediate in conflict situations.
  • Increasing motivation by recognising the specific values and needs of each generation.
  • Mastering techniques for providing feedback and guidance tailored to the behaviours and perceptions of different generations.
Target audience:
The programme was designed for mid- to senior-level managers at Moto-Pfohe, including branch managers, after-sales managers, and brand managers. These leaders are directly responsible for creating a sustainable environment in which different generations can work together effectively.

Design

The design of the programme involved an in-depth analysis and was tailored to the specific needs of the teams at Moto-Pfohe:
  • Preliminary meetings to clarify goals and understand the practical realities of the workplace.
  • Preparation of practical case studies drawn from participants’ everyday experiences to facilitate the transfer of learning to the workplace.
  • Self-preparation sessions and interim tasks for participants to complete between training sessions.
  • Inclusion of mastermind sessions to enable managers to exchange experiences and best practices.

Results

The "Generations in the Workplace: Leadership Approaches" programme delivered several important outcomes for the teams at Moto-Pfohe:
  • Managers from various levels, including branch managers, after-sales managers, and brand managers, participated in interactive sessions and practical case studies focused on generational differences and team behaviour.
  • Techniques for adaptation and mediation in intergenerational conflicts were introduced and practised.
  • Feedback from participants indicated an increased awareness of generational differences and greater confidence in resolving conflicts.
  • Improvements in motivation and collaboration within teams were achieved by fostering a better understanding and acceptance of the different values and approaches to work across generations.
  • Individual action plans were developed by each manager to implement the learning in their daily practice.
