Goals

The "Managing Motivation at the Workplace" programme aimed to help leaders at VIVACOM enhance their ability to understand and influence employee motivation in a rapidly changing work environment. Its primary objectives included:
  • Raising awareness of the impact of both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
  • Enhancing skills in recognising individual motivators among team members.
  • Applying practical approaches to influence, based on personal and social motivators.
  • Establishing sustainable practices to boost engagement and productivity.

Target audience:
The programme was targeted at an extensive group of several levels middle managers at VIVACOM, who lead teams and are responsible for retaining and motivating key employees. It was designed to support their role as leaders in creating a positive and productive work environment.

Design

The programme was built on an Agile Blended Learning approach and incorporated a variety of methods and tools:
  • Storification: An animated training series focused on work motivation.
  • Gamification: Interactive elements to enhance the practical value of the programme and increase participant engagement.
  • A modular structure combining online and face-to-face formats.
  • Practical tasks: Participants conducted individual observations of team members’ behaviour, analysing their motivation using specially developed questionnaires and scales.
  • Real-case solutions: Development of individual and team strategies for managing motivation, based on observation and analysis.
  • "Shared Experience" Library: Creation and utilisation of a resource library containing case studies from participants’ practice, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experience.

Results

The "Managing Motivation in Dynamic Times" programme achieved significant success by providing participants with practical tools and strategies for identifying and managing motivational factors. Key outcomes included:
  • Identification of motivational factors: Participants successfully applied tools to assess both intrinsic and extrinsic motivators within their teams, focusing on needs such as autonomy, purpose and meaning, order, mastery, and dignity.
  • Application of an individual approach: Participants developed customised motivational strategies based on the specific needs and profiles of their team members.
  • Case study library: Real organisational situations were used to create case studies and strategies, which participants exchanged and discussed during facilitated sessions.
  • Enrichment of the "Shared Experience" Library: The programme added new examples and approaches to motivation management in the Vivacom library, available for use by participants and other managers in the future.
  • Focus on practical application: The knowledge acquired during the modules was directly applied through real tasks, leading to immediate and visible improvements in team performance.
