The Business Institute delivered an engaging interactive workshop for the Cisco Bulgaria team, designed to enhance team dynamics and foster a culture of trust and effective collaboration by drawing on P. Lencioni's concept of "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team" and utilising the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology.

Goals

The workshop was designed to improve the efficiency of teamwork at Cisco by developing communication skills and fostering trust among team members. The programme was structured to help participants build a shared vision and strong internal bonds, leading to improved team performance and better outcomes for the organisation.

Key objectives of the workshop:

  • Developing skills to resolve conflicts and express ideas constructively
  • Encouraging collaboration and mutual support

Target audience:
The workshop was intended for teams at Cisco Bulgaria that require enhanced communication and cohesion. The focus was on teams working on complex projects that demand a high level of coordination and mutual trust to achieve successful outcomes.

Design

The design of the workshop included a thorough analysis of the team’s needs and the adaptation of the content to address the specific challenges at Cisco. An interactive approach was used, incorporating practical exercises that encourage the open sharing of thoughts and emotions while building trust.

The workshop followed a specifically developed design based on the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method, comprising several key stages::
  • Conducting a detailed needs analysis through interviews and surveys with participants, based on the concept of "The 5 dysfunctions of the team" from P. Lencioni
  • Developing scenarios and case studies tailored to real work situations at Cisco
  • Introducing techniques for conflict resolution and constructive communication
  • Workshops to internalise psychological safety and constructive discussions competencies using LEGO® Serious Play®
  • Running interactive sessions and role-playing exercises to simulate various work scenarios
  • Facilitating discussion panels and feedback sessions to promote internal understanding and mutual support

Results

Following the completion of the workshop, Cisco Bulgaria reported significant improvements in team dynamics and communication.
